Julia’s journey with soapmaking began as a little girl, learning at her grandmother’s side. Together, they stirred open kettles over wood fires, using lye made from wood ash, well water, and rich farm-rendered fats. Those early soaps, poured into simple molds, were rustic and honest—sometimes harsh, leaving your skin feeling tight, but always made with love.
The real magic was in the moments: laughter and lessons shared between generations.
Today, Briar Berry Soap is a biblically clean soap kitchen, where Julia blends cherished tradition with modern techniques and nourishing butters to create gentle, skin-loving bars. Our soap gently cleanses, leaving your skin soft and comfortable. With simple packaging, pure ingredients, and a hardworking spirit grounded in faith, Briar Berry Soap delivers a clean you can’t forget—rooted in heritage, made for today.
